Pedestrian Critically Injured in Crash

On Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at approximately 2:39pm the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2000 block of Koring Road in reference to a single vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a white 2002 Honda passenger car in the west bound lane of the roadway. The Perry Township Fire Department was rendering care to a female pedestrian that had been struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to Deaconess Hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Deaconess Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Based on preliminary evidence and statements obtained at the scene, the pedestrian is believed to have been struck while crossing the road to return to her residence. Alcohol is not supected of having been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
