In accordance with IC 5-14-1.5-5, the Public Notice of Meetings section of Indiana’s Open Door Law, notice is hereby given that, effective January 17, 2023, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Merit Board has announced their regular, monthly, meeting schedule for 2023 will be as follows:

Zachary Tyler Young was developed as the suspect who led deputies on a brief pursuit on 01/04/2023 that resulted in deputies terminating the pursuit.

On 12-23-2022, deputies responded to an injury crash at NB I69 near Boonville New Harmony Rd.

At 10:00 on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, Sheriff Wedding would like to recognize the stakeholders involved in the Vanderburgh County Jail Enhancement Project. Sheriff Wedding has lobbied throughout his tenure as elected Sheriff for improving the capacity and capabilities of the Vanderburgh County Jail complex.

On 12-15-2022, at 823 AM, deputies responded to the 18000 Block of Old Princeton Rd near Hilltop Rd. in reference to a single vehicle crash.

On Sunday, 12-11-2022, at 3:46 AM, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of Upper Mount Vernon Road and Boehne Camp Road in reference to a single-vehicle accident.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an 18-year-old Evansville man on multiple felony charges, including Rape. The alleged incidents occurred while the suspect, Luke Samuel Pokorney, was a juvenile.
