CONTACT: Lt. David Townsend / Lt. Noah Robinson
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Dave Wedding

On Saturday October 17, 2015 at approximately 2:08 A.M. a Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a 2004 Ford pickup truck near the intersection of the Lloyd Expressway and St. Joseph Avenue. The vehicle had been driving erratically and was speeding. The driver of the truck refused to stop and began to flee eastbound on the Lloyd Expressway.

The driver continued to flee, eventually travelling eastbound on Washington Avenue towards Newburgh Road. At the intersection of Washington Avenue and Newburgh Road the driver failed to negotiate a turn and the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole and then traveled through a backyard located in the 6800 block of Newburgh Road. The vehicle then struck several trees before colliding with a 2002 Dodge pickup truck that was parked in a driveway. The impact pushed the Dodge truck into a 1979 Rolls Royce that was parked behind the Dodge truck. A covered carport was also damaged as a result of the crash.

The driver of the truck, Ms. Alyssa R. Brown, was placed into custody without further incident. Ms. Brown was transported to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being arrested and transported to the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center.
