Subject in Custody Peacefully Following Brief Standoff
On August 17th, 2023, at 1:35 PM, Deputies assigned to the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant for Jeremy Michael Wood at 1501 S. Boeke Road. Task Force Officers made contact with the residents and confirmed that the suspect was inside the residence.
Deputies investigate Motor Vehicle Crash with Serious Injuries
On August 10th, 2023, at 1:35 pm, deputies were dispatched to SR 57 and Baseline Rd. for an accident with injuries. Upon arrival, deputies observed a maroon Nissan truck, and a black Chevrolet sedan on the Northeast side of the intersection.

Sobriety Checkpoint Results for August 4, 2023
The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Traffic Safety Partnership conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, August 4, 2023 near the intersection of N. St. Joseph Av near Buchanan Rd. Law enforcement officers from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police Department, Indiana State Police, and Indiana State Excise Police conducted the checkpoint as a part of a statewide enforcement effort designed to detect and deter impaired driving.
Infant from Abuse and Neglect Arrest Removed from Life Support
The five month-old victim of abuse and neglect reported by the Sheriff’s Office on Monday, July 31 has died. The infant had been on life-support since being transported to an Indianapolis children’s hospital the day after his parents reported that he had stopped breathing.
