Blitz 119: Speeding Enforcement Campaign

This summer, The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with other Indiana law enforcement agencies to keep drivers and passengers safe by raising awareness about the dangers of speeding and urging drivers to obey speed limits.

Phone Scam ALERT!

Phone scammers are at it again. The Sheriff’s Office has received several reports that potential victims are receiving phone calls from an individual claiming to be a Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputy informing them that they have a warrant for their arrest for missing a court appearance.

Domestic Violence & Arson Arrest

On 6/30/2023 at approximately 4:45am, Vanderburgh County Deputies were dispatched to 3415 Old Henderson Rd. in reference to a domestic battery and possible arson.

Deputies respond to Suspicious Device located at Nurrenbern Rd. and Graff Rd.

On 06-27-2023, at approximately 0900 hours, deputies were dispatched to the area of Nurrenbern Rd. and Graff Rd., which is in the vicinity of Burdette Park, in reference to suspicious circumstances. The complainant stated he had found what he believed to be a “pipe bomb” on the side of Nurrenbern Rd.

Sheriff’s Office Holds Recognition Ceremony

On Friday, June 23, 2023, Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson welcomed guests at the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse for an awards ceremony.  Family, friends, colleagues, and other guests attended to recognize a number of employees.

Multiple Arrests Made, Firearms Recovered during Arrest Operation

In May 2023, VCSO Detective James Budde, who is also a federally deputized Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Evansville Resident Office (DEA ERO), developed information that identified Keyontae McGuire and Edward Jerome Ivy as local leaders of a drug distribution organization operating in Evansville, Indiana.

Jail Inmates Graduate from IN2WORK Culinary Program

On Thursday June 08, 2023 a ceremony was held with the participating inmates, their families, and representatives from Aramark and the Sheriff’s Office. The participants prepared a meal for their families and spoke about their plans for life post-incarceration.

Arrests Made in Burdette Park Investigation

In December of 2021, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into alleged missing funds at Burdette Park. Burdette Park officials contacted the Sheriff’s Office after a year-end accounting of the fees collected for the campground showed a discrepancy in the amount of money deposited and the amount of money that should have been collected.
