Suspect from DV Standoff Arrested

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at approximately 5:50 PM sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 2200 Block of South Red Bank Road in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival the victim told deputies that her landlord, Mr. Ryan Matthew Hart, had physically assaulted her and attempted to confine her inside of her residence by boarding up the doors.

Domestic violence run leads to brief standoff

Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 2300-BLK of S Red Bank Rd for an assault in progress where a victim had been held against her will. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, who had fled the scene to a nearby residence and was no longer in danger.

While on patrol in the area of Stringtown Rd. and Cardinal Dr. deputies located a stolen 2009 Nissan Altima.

Sheriff’s Office Investigating Infant Death

On Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 10:25 AM, Shane Hedrick called 911 to report he had checked in on his son, whom was sleeping in his crib, and found he was dead. Hedrick attempted CPR while EMS and Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence, located in northwest Vanderburgh County. Arriving EMS and McCutchanville Volunteer Fire Department personnel took over life-saving measures but were unsuccessful in reviving the infant.

Sheriff’s Office Holds Recognition Ceremony

On Friday, January 5, 2024, Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson welcomed guests at the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse for an awards ceremony. Family, friends, colleagues, and other guests attended to recognize a number of employees. The ceremony featured two newly appointed deputy sheriffs sworn in by Vanderburgh Clerk of the Circuit Court Carla Hayden. Additionally, members of the office were recognized for completion of probationary status, life-saving actions and the performance of extraordinary tasks while on duty. Sherif Robinson was quoted as saying “the culture that we foster at the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is that their work is valued.”

Trespasser Arrested after Failed Attempt to Deliver Narcotics into Jail

In the spirit of the season, the Sheriff’s Office has recently joked about “Clem the Elf” and “The Grinch” visiting the Jail. The presents a real-life trespasser at the Jail were trying to deliver were certainly not anything Santa would leave in your stocking.
